What are we causing?

The consequence of this problem is the topic of the blog, the electric garbage what is it causing? Where the problem is? That’s what you have to think about it cause if you don’t you are just been egoist cause it will change your life in a couple of years or maybe more but it will change everything.
The main consequence of this is the huge amount of garbage in every single country. The overpopulation demands more devices and devices become unuseful with the time so people will discard then and the dump will get bigger and bigger until we can’t find a place to store the garbage, that’s the case of US the have to storage their garbage in another countries like Ghana where you find a huge desert full of electronic garbage, it is growing and growing destroying the environment as well the surface as the ground, the underground water is been contaminated so much until the point that we can’t use it anymore. The size of the deserts is growing, the gas of the garbage, the toxic gas created by the decomposition of the garbage is affecting the areas around dumps and the air making it toxic.

As well as you read this environmental problems is destroying the world really slowly but too much, some on the beautiful places are disappearing by the garbage creating deserts, destroying lifes and decreasing the life time of the world it is a huge problem and we have to do something, we have to think about and help.

Think About it, think green

As well we have read on the other post, the main cause is the consumerism so the best ways to solve this problem is to attempt directly to the factories cause they trying to get more and more money and they don’t care about what’s going on with their old or broken devices and they are making every single device with a short durability or they create a new brand a few of months later after the previous version. Our solutions are:

  • It will be hard, cause the world is handled by money and it gives power who have it, the idea is to talk, to make the huge factories  and make they think about what they are doing with their products, think about what happened when their replace something new, when they don’t have the enough support to keep their products alive for so many years, and create an a ideology , the ideology of create devices with a longer life time of course they will disagree with this idea cause it makes them loose money, but if you create an excellent device  it can be used for years and years.
  • The second and more viable solution is to create some way to transform the electronic garbage into something else, to reuse all of this dead devices as we do with the paper. Enterprises like nokia are changing and thinking about the environment problems that they are causing, so they are collecting their old devices and recycling them. Or IBM they use the electronic garbage to create solar panel and give energy to 6000 homes and help to generate 13.5 megawatts of power that's the way we and enterprises can save the world but more enterprises have to it, in everysingle country.
  •  The other thing that we can do is to make people think about, maybe most of the people don’t even think about what they do when they throw their old device, so he can tell them and show them what’s happening, how the world is been destroyed and they can help to solve the problems, recycling their devices, creating new ways to recycle those devices that’s our solution.

Causes Development, Population

Development

It Is estimated, there are over a billion Personal computers in the world. In developed countries they have an average life span of only 2 years. In the United States are over 300 million obsolete computers. Not only the developing countries have faced a steep rise in sales or moreover wastage In this industry. the sales of computers and internet usage have gone up by 400% in developing countries as well. As the digital divide narrows we must address the question of disposal of large numbers of "end of life" computers and other technology equipment. Also we can now understand That this industry is globalizing at a fast rate an alarming rate or rather. All of this is Because of development caused by globalization.

Population
the Increasing of the Population is making this problem bigger. If the amount of people increased the factories have to create more and more devices to satisfy the needs of the society and of course it make the amount of electronic garbage go up.  You can figure out of what’s going on for example in UE, where they have to throw their garbage not in their own country, they have to take their garbage to other countries like Ghana, where you can see a hole desert full of electronic garbage and some devices still working or some parts can be used for make something else.

Problem of Ghana

In a country as Ghana, the persons live in poor condition, where their capital Accra there is places that during the year the ships curry thousand tonnes of garbage specifically scrap that it comes of the developing countries where  obsolete devices are thrown into the trash, in this garbage there are loads of old electronics as televisions, computer monitors, hard drives, cell phone etc. This old devices are put in this places and generate contamination in environment due to chemical compounds that have these electronic devices , this also produce fatal diseases such cancer and as Accra is a coastal city the scrap is in lakes and sea polluting marine life and water of the earth.
The persons of Acra due their need see as an opportunity this environmental problem, they extract parts of this old device that have some value as copper that is reuse for new devices however this persons which are often  are children are exposed bad environment that produce this scrap has chemical compounds fatal to humans such lead that causes cancer to be exalted.

The consume that the large electronics companies generate because their products have operating life relatively short where the consumer has to buy new products because its old devices are obsolete, the company also produce new dispositive very fast and these new devices they give new applications and new features and each generation of devices improve its characteristics producing that the people feel a necessity of to buy and creating a vicious cycle of buying and throwing.

More than 40 years ago, Gordon Moore, co-founder of the computer-chip maker Intel, observed that computer processing power roughly doubles every two years. An unstated corollary to “Moore's law” is that at any given time, all the machines considered state-of-the-art are simultaneously on the verge of obsolescence.

Consumerism (Cause)

The main causes of the huge accumulation of electronic garbage is the excessive human buy, throw out and buy, the people is buying and buying stuff because something better, newer  pretty come out to the market  something that just please them  something those new devices sometimes are unnecessary, they just make people happy  for a short time or for the short life time of the device.

Most of the people think “if I have the new iPhone I will be happy” , or “my friend bought the new iPhone  and it’s awesome I want it” that’s what you hear most of the times and doesn’t matter if u have a devices similar or do the same thing that the new one, the things that matter in the actuality is to have the last device or the prettiest one. But what happens with the devices that you throw out, they don’t disappear , those old, broken devices  go to the dump, there those devices are just saved till the end of the days, until someone find out the way to destroy or transform them . Sometimes the garbage can be used to do other products like paper, you can recycle it and make new paper but with the electronic garbage it’s not the same thing, most of the parts can’t be recycled, like the chips, you can’t create something else with then (well maybe some artistic creating)cause they were made with a specific function but they were replace for something better something new, so they were just throw out.
Long time ago the machines can be used for so many years, u can actually found some of them in your grandparents house but now days the machines or devices are created for some years they are replaced so fast like eve single year, every single month something new comes out and people bought it and people discard the device that they have. We should blame they factories for this, they have been making the people addicted to buy, throw out and buy, they create devices with a short life time, they make people believe in the happiness is on buy stuff have the newest device, and that’s the wrong idea of happiness and there is where the problem with garbage is, the huge consumerism of product in the buy, throw and buy.
